Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Gas Meter Installer to join our team. This role involves replacing gas meters in the Vancouver and Richmond area for Fortis. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with pipe wrenches, and the ability to troubleshoot residential gas equipment. Duties
- Install, inspect, and service gas meters according to company standards and safety regulations
- Use hand tools and power tools for precise installation and maintenance tasks
- Perform electrical work related to low voltage systems associated with gas meters
- Conduct troubleshooting and repairs on existing meter setups
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed during all phases of installation and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including welding procedures when necessary
Qualifications
- Plumbing and gas fitting experience (2 years minimum)
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools
- Electrical experience related to low voltage systems is preferred
- Prior experience with gas or utility installations is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
