The Opportunity:
The Clinic Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the eye clinic, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient staff coordination. Serving as a primary point of contact for assigned healthcare providers (HCPs), the Clinic Manager liaises with patients, pharmacies, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize care delivery. This role includes hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising clinic personnel while upholding the clinic’s service standards and values.
A Day in the Life (What you will do here)
- Clinic Operations: Oversee day-to-day clinic activities to ensure smooth workflows, operational efficiency, and adherence to organizational policies.
- Patient Flow & Front Desk Supervision: Manage front desk operations, ensure timely patient intake, upload referrals, and schedule appointments in line with physician protocols to minimize wait times.
- Customer Service Leadership: Cultivate a patient-centered environment where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, and service excellence is the standard.
- Physician Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between physicians and staff, ensuring scheduling needs and workflow preferences are met throughout the day.
- Staff Hiring, Supervision & Coaching:
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and performance management of clinic personnel, including Clinic Operation Specialists, Clinic Receptionists, Assistants, and Ophthalmic Technicians.
- Provide ongoing supervision through regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, coaching, recognition, and constructive feedback.
- Training & Onboarding: Identify skill gaps, develop training plans, and deliver onboarding and ongoing education to ensure all staff are aligned with clinic protocols and core values.
- Scheduling & HR Coordination: Manage physician and staff schedules, oversee workforce planning, and represent leadership in all human resource matters.
- Meeting Facilitation: Lead staff and physician meetings to promote communication, collaboration, and continuous improvements.
- Issue Resolution: Respond to and resolve patient or staff concerns, manage technical challenges, and maintain a proactive approach to clinic quality and responsiveness.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a key contact for external partners, including hospitals, private clinics, and equipment vendors.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of clinical experience.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a Ophthalmology clinic or office setting.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Confident in training and staff development.
- Able to make sound judgments and decisions under pressure.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Assets:
- Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, or acute care settings.

- The anticipated base salary hiring range for this role is $70k to $81k annually. The final base salary will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
