Position summary
Department / Research Program: Division of Cardiology
The Research Assistant will support the clinical research program led by Dr. Judy Luu within the Division of Cardiology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). The incumbent will contribute to a dynamic portfolio of investigator-initiated studies and clinical trials focused on women's cardiovascular health, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), and cardiovascular disease prevention, reporting directly to Dr. Luu. The successful candidate will coordinate clinical research activities, support scientific publications and grant development, participate in cardiac MRI research operations, and contribute to the growth and community engagement initiatives of the P.O.W.E.R. Women's Health Prevention Program. This position offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary research team and contribute to clinically impactful research spanning patient care, imaging, and knowledge translation.
General Duties
- Coordinate investigator-initiated clinical research studies and trials, including participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, study visits, and follow-up.
- Maintain study documentation and regulatory records, and prepare Research Ethics Board submissions, amendments, renewals, and study reports.
- Perform data collection, entry, quality assurance, cleaning, and dataset preparation, assist with statistical analyses and interpretation of study findings.
- Support preparation of manuscripts, conference abstracts, grant applications, presentations, and other scientific communications.
- Coordinate cardiac MRI research activities, including on-site participant support during research imaging sessions (approximately one day per week).
- Assist with organization and operations of the Cardiac MRI Core Laboratory, including research infrastructure and workflow support.
- Support the planning and delivery of initiatives, partnerships, educational events, and community outreach activities through the P.O.W.E.R. Women's Health Prevention Program.
- Contribute to knowledge translation activities, including website content, newsletters, social media, and dissemination of research findings.
- Collaborate effectively with clinicians, researchers, trainees, research coordinators, and community partners across multiple projects.
Standards of performance
Consistently produce accurate, high-quality research data, documentation, and scientific outputs while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and research ethics requirements.
- Effectively coordinate multiple concurrent projects, demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and collaborative engagement with investigators, clinicians, trainees, research participants, and community partners.

Required Skills
This position requires an advanced knowledge of oral and written French.
- An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with patients, researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
- Minimum of two years of experience in clinical or health research.
- Experience coordinating human participant research, maintaining regulatory documentation, and managing research databases is required.
- Experience with cardiovascular research, cardiac imaging research, REDCap, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Matlab, etc.), and manuscript or grant preparation is considered an asset.
Additional information
Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Work Site: Glen Site, 1001 Decarie Blvd.
