The ideal candidate will for coordinate and expedite the flow of tools, equipment, and materials within Altitude Drilling Tools to support ongoing operations as well as efficiently managing the shipping, receiving, and accurate documentation of parts, supplies, materials, equipment, and stock movement to and from the establishment. This role involves ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods, maintaining organized records, and supporting inventory control. The Tubular coordinator plays a critical role in facilitating smooth operations and ensuring that all materials are handled, stored, and distributed in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. The tubular coordinator shall also assist MWD operations in the supply and movement of any material as deemed necessary for supply and support to field operations.
Shipping & Receiving Operations:
- Review and compile detailed worksheets and specifications based on customer orders.
- Estimate material types and quantities required to fulfill job orders accurately and efficiently.
- Consult with Operations and Directional Drilling (DD) Coordinators to ensure alignment on project requirements.
- Oversee and participate in the packing and labeling of goods for shipment, including the preparation of containers and crates, and recording contents accurately.
- Engage with suppliers to schedule deliveries, address shortages or missed shipments, and resolve any delivery issues.
- Supervise the loading and unloading of materials, ensuring accuracy and safety during transport.
- Oversee the safe and accurate loading and unloading of goods from trucks and other conveyances.
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, packing slips, tool transfers, and QA/QC documentation.
- Record and report any shortages, damages, or deviations from specifications to the supervisor.
- Prepare and complete shipping documents manually or via computer systems.
- Assemble, label, and pack goods into containers or crates for shipping, including affixing appropriate documentation and shipping instructions.
Inventory & Material Handling:
- Receive, sort, and store incoming parts, supplies, and downhole tools in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including serial numbers, part numbers, quantities, and locations using manual or computerized systems.
- Process internal requisitions and distribute materials, parts, or tools as required for operational needs.
- Prepare requisition orders to replenish inventory levels in coordination with purchasing and warehouse teams.
- Assist in regular inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and reconciliation.
- Check MWD supply room for items to transfer to Calgary HQ or Field locations
- Work with MWD manager and coordinators to assist in remote kit supply or component movement as required
- Ensure facility is stocked appropriately with consumables – notify supervisor of deficiencies
Equipment Operation & Yard Management:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, winches, and other material handling equipment to move and store goods safely.
- Operate small cranes to lift, move, or position large or heavy parts as required; perform rigging, pre-operational inspections, and maintenance as necessary.
- Drive company vehicles or trucks for local transport of materials, as needed.
- Maintain yard and warehouse organization, including racking of downhole tools, general cleanliness, and safe access to all materials.
- Support upkeep of workspaces and equipment through routine cleaning, maintenance, and lubrication.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Complete and maintain accurate records related to serial numbers, parts used, work performed, and any observed discrepancies.
- Maintain inspection and maintenance logs for equipment and tools, reporting any issues for corrective action.
Teamwork & Safety:
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, production teams, and supervisors to support smooth operations.
- Instruct and supervise trainees as required, promoting best practices in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and environmental regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
- Apply and promote the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) within the scope of responsibilities.
- Encourage environmental awareness and support initiatives for resource conservation and waste management.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. On-call staff are expected to respond to incidents within 30 minutes.
