Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food service. Duties
- Assist in supervising daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision and creativity, maintaining consistency in presentation and taste
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and minimize waste while maintaining quality standards
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff, providing training and guidance on food preparation, cooking techniques, and service standards
- Serve as a role model for team management by fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health codes
- Assist in onboarding new team members and conducting performance evaluations
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, with demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry best practices
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper handling procedures
- Experience in restaurant management or kitchen supervision preferred
- Excellent team management abilities with a focus on hospitality and service excellence
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including inventory control and menu development
