Canuel Caterers was started over 30 years ago by two entrepreneurial brothers with the ambitions of starting up a company that would rival other large, multi-national food service providers in Canada. Today we have over 45+ school accounts combined in the Lower Mainland and the Interior of British Columbia, in addition to multiple corporate accounts in recreational centers, and corporate buildings.
We are currently hiring a General Manager to oversee our busy café located in the Poirier Sports and Leisure Centre, and five seasonal park concessions in Coquitlam.
The café is fully licensed and operates seven days a week. We also run the concession in the 2000 seat arena located in the centre which gets utilized by the local lacrosse and hockey teams. Along with the day-to-day operations, Ice Water Café also sees some catering orders, and large tournaments that come through on weekends.
We are looking for someone to take over the operations to ensure the café and concessions are running successfully. The candidate must be highly organized, with restaurant, customer service and team leading experience.
In addition to the Cafe, the General Manager would be responsible for our five seasonal park concessions located in Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows.
General Manager
Duties:
- Oversee daily operations of the café and concessions, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Manage and train staff, including scheduling and performance evaluations
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and customer satisfaction
- Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the restaurant or hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation and safety protocols
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
- Proficiency in using POS systems for order processing and cash handling
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
