The Opportunity:
We are staffing up for a new Marvel Studios streaming series, and we are looking for experienced Mid to Senior CG Character Animators to join the team. You already know the IP is going to be incredibly fun to work on, so we will skip the heavy sales pitch!
What we really need are experienced artists who can bring distinct personalities to life. If your strengths include dynamic posing, heavy physical action, subtle emotional acting, and nailing that perfect comedic beat, we want to talk to you. As a mid to senior artist, we are looking for someone who knows how to manage their time, think outside the box, and bring a collaborative, supportive energy to our team.
In this role, success looks like:
Animation and Performance

Create high quality CG animation that hits the creative direction without needing a ton of hand holding.

Explore and animate primary and secondary characters deeply to deliver unique performances that feel authentic and lived in.

Confidently tackle complex shots that showcase a masterful understanding of character personalities, subtle acting choices, and environment interaction.
Collaboration and Mentorship

Work seamlessly with directors and supervisors, openly accepting notes and efficiently incorporating feedback into your work.

Show up ready to participate actively in dailies, share your ideas, and collaborate on creative solutions.

Bring your experience to the table by being a positive presence on the team, offering guidance or troubleshooting help to junior artists when needed.
Workflow and Efficiency

Find that sweet spot between creativity and efficiency. You know how to deliver top tier work while still respecting the schedule and technical constraints of the pipeline.

Be proactive in managing your time to consistently hit deadlines and quotas without burning out.
The Requirements
Must Haves:

Experience: 3 plus years of TV or Film production experience as an animator, with a strong reel that backs it up.

Education: No formal education is required, your experience and reel speak for themselves!

Software: High proficiency in Maya.

Core Skills: A masterful understanding of the core principles of animation, heavy body mechanics, and nuanced acting.

Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills. You know how to ask the right questions to get the shot done.

Eligibility: You must be legally eligible to work in British Columbia.
Nice to Haves:

Traditional animation experience is a wonderful asset.

Life drawing experience with a strong knowledge of human anatomy, physical motion, form, and balance.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $73,000 and $88,000 CAD, based on your level of experience.
