About the Role: We are a busy dental practice in Victoria, BC, seeking a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) to join our team. This is a full-time permanent position, 40 hours per week over 5 days, including Saturdays. You will work chair-side with our dentists to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care in a professional and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide chair-side assistance during examinations, restorative procedures, extractions, and other dental treatments
- Take and process dental radiographs (intraoral and extraoral)
- Perform coronal polishing and apply pit and fissure sealants
- Take alginate impressions
- Place and remove rubber dams, matrices, and wedges
- Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and operatories per IPAC protocols
- Document patient records accurately using dental practice management software
- Assist with patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Support front desk functions as needed, including scheduling and patient communication
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC) as a Certified Dental Assistant
- NDAEB certification (National Dental Assisting Examining Board)
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Valid CPR certification (Level C or HCP)
- Knowledge of BC IPAC standards and WorkSafeBC requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
