Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time counsellor to join our team on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays . The ideal candidate will counsel patients about their options for medical and surgical abortions as well as IUD insertions. This role requires a background in women's health, patient care, and experience working in a medical environment. The counsellor will collaborate with our nurses and doctors to ensure comprehensive care for our patients.
Duties
- Counsel patients in the Clinic. Give patients medical history and consent documentation to fill out and sign.
- Explain the procedure and answer all questions from patients.
- Provide patients with IUD insertion/removal and contraceptive advice.
Qualifications
- Undergrad in Psychology or Social Studies or Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario.
- Experience working in a medical clinic or doctor's office.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and research initiatives.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
Work Location: In person
