About the Role
Graydon Hall Manor is one of Toronto's premier event venues, celebrated for its historic Georgian architecture and exceptional hospitality. We host weddings, corporate gatherings, and private events of the highest standard — and every member of our team plays a meaningful role in that experience.
We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dishwasher to support our Front of House operations. This is a hands-on, essential role focused on the cleanliness and turnaround of event glassware, serveware, and dining accessories — ensuring that our service team always has what they need to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize glassware, flatware, china, serving platters, and beverage equipment in a timely and thorough manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing station, back-of-house service areas, and adjacent storage.
- Sort, rack, and carefully return cleaned items to their designated storage locations, taking particular care with glassware and specialty serve ware.
- Monitor glass and dishware inventory throughout service, proactively communicating restocking needs.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with venue procedures.
- Report any damaged, chipped, or broken glassware and equipment to a supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with FOH and bar staff to maintain efficient flow during service, especially during peak event periods.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a hotel, event venue, or hospitality environment is an asset, though not required.
- Careful handling of glassware and fine serve ware. You understand that breakage has real operational and cost implications.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to maintain pace and focus during high-volume event service.
- Reliability and punctuality; events run on precise schedules, and we count on every team member to be present and prepared.
- A collaborative, positive attitude and willingness to support the broader FOH team as needed.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. This role involves standing, lifting, and moving throughout a shift.
- Basic familiarity with safe chemical handling and sanitation practices is an asset.
