POSITION SUMMARY
The Floor Manager is responsible for leading the front-of-house team during service and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role focuses on team leadership, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.
The Floor Manager reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates closely with the Bar Manager and Kitchen Manager to ensure seamless daily operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Front-of-House Operations
- Lead all front-of-house operations during service.
- Ensure the restaurant is fully prepared before each shift.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to review service expectations, menu updates, reservations, VIP guests, and daily objectives.
- Monitor the pace of service and ensure smooth coordination between the dining room, kitchen, and bar.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and service standards are consistently followed.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming restaurant environment throughout every shift.
- Anticipate operational challenges and resolve them proactively.
Team Leadership
- Supervise servers, hosts, bartenders, runners, and support staff during service.
- Lead by example through professionalism, positivity, and exceptional hospitality.
- Coach, mentor, and motivate team members to perform at their best.
- Provide continuous feedback and on-the-floor training.
- Ensure staff maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and service standards.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive work environment.
- Communicate employee performance, development opportunities, and operational concerns to the General Manager.
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional hospitality and ensure every guest enjoys an outstanding dining experience.
- Visit tables regularly to engage with guests and ensure satisfaction.
- Handle guest concerns and complaints professionally, efficiently, and with empathy.
- Resolve service issues quickly while protecting the guest experience.
- Build relationships with regular guests and help create memorable experiences that encourage repeat visits.
Opening & Closing Responsibilities
- Complete all opening and closing procedures according to company standards.
- Ensure the dining room, service stations, and restaurant are fully prepared before opening.
- Complete end-of-day reports and communicate important operational updates to the management team.
- Secure the restaurant and ensure all closing procedures are completed accurately.
Communication & Coordination
- Maintain excellent communication between the front-of-house, kitchen, and bar teams.
- Ensure food and beverages are served accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate guest requests, dietary restrictions, and service priorities clearly to the kitchen and bar.
- Support collaboration between departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
Quality & Standards
- Ensure every aspect of the guest experience reflects Entrecôte Restaurant's standards.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the restaurant.
- Uphold food safety, workplace safety, and liquor service regulations.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
