Job Summary
The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting CNC machining processes to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role combines hands-on CNC programming and setup with process improvement, tooling design, and cross-functional collaboration to support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) to meet production and quality requirements
- Set up CNC machines, including tooling selection, offsets, and parameter adjustments
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to programs, tooling, fixtures, or materials
- Design and build fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve efficiency, quality, and repeatability
- Create and maintain technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues
- Provide technical support and mentorship to CNC operators and set-up personnel
Qualifications
- Diploma in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of CNC programming and machining experience
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, and fixturing
- Experience using CAM software and CAD software
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Assets:
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
- Exposure to cost estimating, automation, or advanced machining technologies
