We are looking for an energetic, outgoing, organized, and responsible individual to work with an active 6 year old boy in the community setting. Some goals we will be working on include safety awareness skills, communication skills, and social skills that can further build his independence in the community.
The ideal candidate will work 2 hour sessions once a week in the community
Current location include: Vancouver (East Vancouver Area)
Summer availability: any 2 hour session within: Monday-Thursday (anytime)
September availability will change to: any 2 hour session within Monday-Friday (330-530pm) OR Weekend (mornings or afternoons)
Some of your Responsibilities:
- Follow and implement strategies based on an individualized behaviour support plan.
- Collect simple data and write session notes based on behaviours, observations, and progress from sessions.
- Work together with other members of the team, parents, and supervising behaviour consultant.
Requirements:
- Motivated to learn and be a positive impact in a child's quality of life
- Creative play skills and can bring in lots of energy!
- Has experience working with children and/or teens
- Have some basic training/education in psychology, special education, or a related field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and does not take anything too personally
- Be willing to commit to 12-months minimum to a family

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
