Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management, with proven leadership and team management skills. As a vital part of our kitchen operations, the Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen activities, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and maintaining an efficient and harmonious work environment. Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in supervising kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and consistency
- Manage food handling procedures in accordance with food safety regulations
- Coordinate kitchen activities during service hours, including serving guests efficiently and courteously
- Supervise inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing stock levels to minimize waste
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations
- Lead by example in demonstrating excellent food industry practices, hospitality standards, and leadership skills
- Support training and development of kitchen staff to enhance skills and teamwork
- Assist in menu planning and development in collaboration with the culinary team
- Maintain a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and high morale
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management within a fast-paced environment
- Supervising experience with a track record of effective team management
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, handling procedures, and sanitation practices
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Solid understanding of the food industry, hospitality standards, and restaurant operations
- Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with staff and serve guests effectively
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience in restaurant or kitchen settings is essential; hospitality background preferred
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours while maintaining professionalism and efficiency
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
