Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant with previous pharmacy experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate pharmacy records. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Assistant will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient support and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy systems with attention to detail and accuracy
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Verify medication orders for correctness and completeness before dispensing
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Support administrative tasks such as billing, documentation, and record keeping
- Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with safety standards and cleanliness protocols
Experience
- Previous pharmacy experience is a MUST, preferably within hospital or retail settings
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and medication management procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care practices
- Experience working with healthcare professionals and patients in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy
Pay: $18.00-$26.00 per hour
