Direct Report: Housekeeping Supervisor / Housekeeping Manager / General Manager

About the Role
As a Room Checker, you are the heart of our guest experience. Your work ensures that every guest room and public space reflects the high standards of cleanliness and comfort that Wingate by Wyndham Calgary Airport is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect all rooms after cleaning.
Requirements
- Must have a drivers license or reliable way to get to and from workplace
- Work experience as a Room Attendant Supervisor (preferred)
- Good physical health and stamina
- Flexibility to work in shifts
- Ability to communicate with guests & other staff
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ensure correction of cleaning problems found in inspected suites as needed.
- Review issues with the Housekeeping Room Attendant.
- Report any damaged or missing items to Executive Housekeeping Manager and Maintenance.
- Report exceptional and/or unusual circumstances, such as no luggage in a stay‐over room, sleep‐outs, damage in the rooms, etc. to the Housekeeping Manager and/Maintenance Manager.
- Communicate changes of room status to the Front Desk.
- Assist Executive Housekeeping Manager with linen and room supplies inventory.
- Clean Room, Assist Laundry and Public Cleaning if needed.
- Oversees the operations and staff of the Housekeeping Department in the absence of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Train and supervise Housekeeping team members.
- Supervise special cleaning projects under the direction of the Executive Housekeeping Manager.
- Assist in maintaining uniform and grooming standards of the department.
- Accommodate Guests’ special requests courteously and efficiently.
- Maintain Guest Lost and Found program to ensure proper security of lost items.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with Guests, clients, co‐workers, and management.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Knowledge of and ability to carry out hotel emergency procedures
- Assist Laundry and Public Cleaning
What We’re Looking For
- Previous housekeeping or custodial experience is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- Ability to work independently while also being a reliable team player.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Familiarity with cleaning tools and equipment is an advantage.
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Flexible with work hours.

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
