Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter, Apprentice Carpenter, or Construction Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. This role involves working on diverse projects ranging from residential to commercial builds, restorations, and renovations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in carpentry and construction practices, with the ability to learn and grow within a collaborative environment. This position offers opportunities to develop technical skills across various trades and project types, contributing to high-quality craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute project plans.
- Perform framing, custom deck work, outdoor renovations, flooring, framework, landscaping and all other carpentry-related tasks using hand tools and power tools.
- Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and restoration projects as needed.
- Conduct construction painting, caulking, and finishing work to ensure durable and aesthetically pleasing results.
- Assist with construction estimating by measuring materials and preparing job site layouts.
- Handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly projects and handyman tasks requiring diverse skill sets.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to identify potential hazards around the job site.
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience or related hands-on skills preferred; relevant experience in carpentry, woodworking, masonry, or landscape is advantageous.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, tile laying, flooring installation, cabinetry work, and restoration techniques is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license required for travel between job sites.
