We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Hathaways Diner is looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef or Chef to join our team at our St. Albert location.
We specialize in delicious breakfast and lunch dishes, serving our guests in a friendly and fast-paced environment.
Position Details:
- Full-time (5 days per week)
- Hours of Operation: 8 AM to 3 PM
- Pay: $17 -$19 per hour, based on experience
- Mandatory Experience: Breakfast cooking experience is required

Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to recipes and cooking techniques.
- Maintain high standards of food handling and safety practices in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and ensure proper storage of food items.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment maintenance and sanitation practices.
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints regarding food quality or service promptly and professionally.
Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.
