Health and Safety Manager
Location: St. Lawrence, NL
Schedule: Monday–Friday (40 hours/week) or 14 days on / 14 days off

Canada Fluorspar (NL) Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Health and Safety Manager to lead our health and safety programs at our St. Lawrence mining operation.
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a safety professional who is passionate about creating a strong safety culture, developing high-performing teams, and driving continuous improvement. Reporting to senior leadership, you will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental teams to ensure our people return home safely every day.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Company's Health and Safety Management System.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Champion a positive safety culture through leadership, coaching, mentoring, and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal health and safety legislation and Company standards.
- Lead workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
- Develop and monitor corrective and preventative action plans.
- Provide leadership in risk management, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate safety training, new hire orientations, and emergency response preparedness.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on safety performance metrics and trends.
- Support supervisors and employees in identifying and controlling workplace hazards.
- Work collaboratively with the Environmental Manager on inspections, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
- Liaise with government regulators and external stakeholders as required.
What We're Looking For
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive health and safety experience in mining, heavy industry, construction, or a similar industrial environment.
- Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence change and build a strong safety culture.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
- Mining or mineral processing experience.
- Emergency response or mine rescue experience.
