QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN
We are currently looking for a Quality Control Technician for our facility in Brooklyn, Queens County, NS.
The Quality Control (QC) Technician’s main role is to ensure that product produced by Aqualitas meets the company’s objectives for purity, quality and security, as well as meets both external and internal regulatory requirements. The QC Technician will be required to co-ordinate with others where necessary, working to adapt/implement company policies and procedures both internally as per the Cannabis Act and Regulations and with respect to Operations, Quality Assurance and Facility Security Protocols.
The QC Technician will provide compliance and quality control guidance as well as support the quality assurance team. The successful incumbent will help to identify and maintain the highest standard of safe and consistent cannabis product while ensuring all production areas are kept clean and sanitized.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Person, in the quality assurance department your work will include but not be limited to the following:

Perform in-process checks for all cannabis products during; harvest, drying, trimming, milling, bulk packaging and final packaging

Perform pre-operation checklist for premises and equipment; run various QC tests including ATP monitoring on the room and equipment

Evaluate production documentation and make necessary corrective actions

Status labelling for rooms, equipment, hold products, destruction, etc.

Collaborate with Quality Assurance team, Production Team Leads, Supervisors and co-workers to optimize production efficiencies

Assist QA Associates with data entry and records

Ensure proper compliance with Health Canada and other regulatory requirements, Occupational Health & Safety Act regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Good Production Practices (GPP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies

Work safely by exercising due diligence and reporting any hazards to the Quality Assurance Manager

Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

College Diploma or University Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related fields

2-3 years experience in a similar role within a highly-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred

Understanding sound quality assurance principles, statistical process control, sanitation

Familiarity with pH meter and moisture analyzers, micro swabbing and calibration of equipment

Good understanding of GPP/EU-GMP, HACCP
-
Experience with GPP/GMP Standards
Skill Requirements:

Flexibility to work on standby/overtime/weekends/holidays as required

Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labour tasks required for employment in a commercial scale indoor growing facility

Ability to lift 50 lbs

Job requires lifting, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching and standing for extended periods of time

Excellent attention to detail and consistently high level of accuracy

Ability to acquire security clearance if required
