Overview
About Us
Nationwide Fuel is a leading Canadian fleet fuel card and network provider, helping over-the-road carriers, owner-operators, and commercial fleets manage their fuel spend across an extensive cardlock and retail network. We pride ourselves on responsive service, competitive pricing, innovative technology and long-term customer relationships.
About the Role
We're looking for an Inside Sales / Account Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for an established book of commercial fuel accounts. This is a relationship-driven role that blends account management, customer support, and sales growth. You'll be the person our customers know and trust - the one who picks up the phone, solves their problems, and finds opportunities to help them get more value from our fuel solutions.
Your success will be measured by customer retention, volume growth within your existing accounts, and your ability to generate qualified referrals.
What You'll Do
- Act as the dedicated point of contact for a portfolio of existing commercial fuel accounts, building strong, long-term relationships
- Handle inbound customer calls and inquiries, resolving issues around cards, transactions, billing, credit, and account administration
- Coordinate with internal departments — operations, credit, and accounting — to resolve customer needs quickly and follow through to completion
- Monitor and analyze account volume performance through regular reporting; identify accounts that are trending up, down, or going dormant
- Proactively reach out to customers to grow fuel volume within your book of business — identifying underutilized fuel cards, additional units, or expanded network usage
- Drive customer referrals by delivering standout service and asking for introductions to other carriers and fleets
- Maintain accurate account records, call notes, and activity tracking in our CRM
- Support onboarding of new accounts and ensure a smooth transition from sales to ongoing account management
- Flag at-risk accounts early and execute retention efforts before volume is lost
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, or customer-facing B2B roles (fuel, transportation, logistics, or fleet services experience is a strong asset)
- A natural relationship builder who genuinely enjoys talking to customers every day
- Strong problem-solving instincts — you take ownership of an issue and see it through, even when it involves other departments
- Highly organized — you manage a full book of accounts, follow-ups, and open issues without letting anything slip through the cracks, and keep disciplined CRM habits
- Strongly analytical — you're comfortable digging into volume reports and account data, spotting trends, and turning what you find into action
- Comfortable working with reports and data to spot trends in account performance
- Organized and detail-oriented, with solid CRM habits
- A growth mindset: you're not just maintaining accounts, you're always looking for the next opportunity to expand volume or earn a referral
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Punjabi) is an asset
Why Join Us
- Young, dynamic team — work alongside a driven, energetic group that moves fast, celebrates wins together, and doesn't get bogged down in corporate bureaucracy
- Strong team culture — we've built a tight-knit environment where people support each other, share knowledge openly, and genuinely enjoy coming to work
- A growing company with real momentum — we're expanding our network, our customer base, and our team, which means genuine opportunities to advance as we scale
- A recession-resistant industry — commercial trucking runs on fuel in every economy; freight keeps moving, fleets keep fueling, and our business stays strong through market cycles
- Established book of business — you're growing existing relationships, not starting from zero
- Performance-based incentives tied to volume growth and retention — your results directly impact your earnings
- Collaborative environment with direct access to operations, credit, and leadership — your ideas get heard and acted on
This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated sales professionals eager to contribute to a growing organization while developing their career in the fuel industry.
