About Last Door Recovery Society:
Last Door Recovery Society is a leader in fostering a community that inspires recovery. Our mission is to provide therapeutic environments where individuals and families dealing with addiction issues can develop the necessary skills to live free in recovery. We offer long-term bed-based and outpatient treatment for men aged 19 and over, utilizing a Social Model treatment modality. We strive for continuous improvement, respect for our service users, and a positive work environment where every team member can thrive and contribute demonstrating that recovery is possible.
Position Overview:
The Support Worker will help deliver personalized recovery programs, offer emotional support, and help clients engage with the community and treatment processes. This position is ideal for empathetic, resilient individuals passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of those recovering from addiction and those willing to help wherever is needed around the facility.
Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in psychology, addiction, mental health, social work or related field preferred.
- Experience in a caregiving role, preferably within mental health, addiction recovery, or a related healthcare setting.
- Individuals with lived experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and confidentiality.
- CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Successfully complete and pass a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check prior to initiating employment and annually thereafter.
Working Conditions:
Overnights and weekends.
