Permanent Full-Time Position - ADL Foodservice - Summerside, PE

Position Overview:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing products for the ADL Foodservice division by monitoring inventory levels, sales trends, seasonal demand, and supplier lead times. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, this role helps maintain product availability, source new products, and support the efficient day-to-day operation of the Foodservice division.
Location: ADL Foodservice, 400 Read Drive, Summerside, PE
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and generate purchase orders by monitoring inventory levels, sales trends, seasonal demand, supplier lead times, and upcoming promotions.

Build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers while working closely with the Sales and Inventory teams to support customer needs.

Monitor inventory activity and identify shortages, slow-moving products, and other trends, taking appropriate action to maintain product availability.

Source new products based on customer requirements and coordinate information with internal teams to support product approvals and launches.

Assist with purchasing activities related to supplier promotions and government, healthcare, and school board tenders.

Analyze sales and purchasing data to help forecast demand and make informed buying decisions.

Maintain accurate purchasing records, product information, and pricing updates using internal systems and Microsoft Excel.

Follow company policies and procedures while performing all duties safely and completing other related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:

Experience in purchasing, inventory planning, wholesale distribution, or a related field.

Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is considered an asset.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Compensation and Benefits:

Wage: $22.00 - $26.00/hr
