Job Summary:

We're seeking a dynamic Child Safety Educator to join our team and deliver impactful injury prevention programs to children aged 4-10 at our vibrant Safety City facility.
As a Child Safety Educator, you'll be more than just an instructor – you'll be a leader, a mentor, and a creative force! You'll have the opportunity to design and deliver innovative lesson plans, create and implement new programs and activities, and represent Safety City at public events, bringing safety concepts to life and fostering a love of learning and critical thinking in young minds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Engaging Lesson Plans: Design and implement creative and age-appropriate lesson plans on a variety of safety related topics, aligning with our program goals and curriculum
- Lead Dynamic Classroom Sessions: Deliver engaging and interactive programs to children aged 4-10, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
- Classroom Management: Effectively manage classroom dynamics, maintain discipline, and ensure all children are actively participating.
- Program Implementation: Facilitate a variety of hands-on activities, games, and simulations to reinforce safety concepts.
- Creative Problem Solving: Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Outdoor Instruction: Conduct programs in an outdoor setting, adapting to various weather conditions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong passion for working with children and promoting safety education.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging educational content.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfort in working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be between the ages of 15-30 years (grant-funded requirement).
- Must be able to provide a current RCMP Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search.
- Must hold a valid First Aid/CPR certificate.
