Teach Taekwondo as a career — not a side gig.
Most martial arts instructors teach a few evening classes and work a second job to pay the bills. We built Endurance Taekwondo so that teaching can be your full-time career — with the pay, hours, and growth path to match.
We're looking for a full-time Taekwondo Instructor for our Port Moody dojang, the flagship of our four locations across Metro Vancouver.
Why instructors choose Endurance
- Voted #1 Martial Arts School in the Tri-Cities — 10 years running
- 4 locations, 2,500+ families trained, 330+ five-star Google reviews
- A team of 25+ Black Belt instructors — you'll train and teach alongside experienced martial artists, not run a school alone
- Real growth path: our senior instructors and location leaders started exactly where you are
What we offer
- CA$30–$35 per hour, full-time
- Extended health benefits: dental and vision care, paramedical services (massage, physiotherapy, chiropractic), and 24/7 virtual healthcare with Teladoc medical expert opinions
- Life, AD&D, and Critical Illness insurance for you and your dependents
- Training and professional development paid by us — we invest in your growth as an instructor
- Performance and event bonuses
- Paid vacation
What you'll do
- Lead high-energy classes for ages 4 through adult — from Little Ninjas to advanced Black Belts
- Run the floor with kindness and authority: kids listen to you because they respect you, not because you yell
- Guide students through our belt curriculum and prepare them for testing
- Build genuine relationships with parents — they trust us with their kids' confidence, and you're the face of that
- Support belt tests, tournaments, and community events
What we're looking for
- Kukkiwon Black Belt, 1st Dan or higher (required)
- 2+ years leading Taekwondo classes (required)
- High energy, clear voice, and the presence to command a room of 20 kids
- First Aid/CPR-C certified, or willing to get certified (we'll point you to a course)
- Able to pass a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Reliable commute to Port Moody (2302 Clarke St)
Schedule
Core teaching hours are weekday afternoons and evenings (3:30 PM – 9:00 PM), when our classes run. Full-time hours are built around that peak window — we'll walk you through the full weekly schedule in your interview.
How to apply
Apply with your resume and a short note about your teaching experience — who you've taught, what ages, and what you love about being on the mats.
