As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes, and contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on accounting position with responsibilities that extend well beyond traditional bookkeeping.
Reporting directly to ownership and working alongside an external CPA advisor, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of the business while helping improve systems, support our growing private lending operation, and contribute to the continued development of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
- Full-cycle accounting for multiple companies.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting working papers.
- Complete month-end and year-end processes.
- Bank, trust and general ledger reconciliations.
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Corporate payroll administration.
- GST and other government remittances.
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow reporting and financial analysis.
- Coordinate with external accountants regarding year-end financial statements and tax compliance.
Private Lending Administration
- Administer financial operations relating to our private mortgage portfolio.
- Process and reconcile mortgage payments.
- Administer investor payments and reporting.
- Maintain accurate mortgage and investor records.
- Work closely with ownership to ensure timely and accurate administration of private lending transactions.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Help design, improve and document financial and operational processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and greater efficiency.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining financial systems that support our growing business.
- Develop reports and dashboards to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- CPA designation or progression toward CPA is considered an asset but is not required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with full-cycle accounting.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Mortgage, lending or financial services experience is an asset but not required.
