At Richmond Packaging we provide a wide range of plain or printed bag styles. Our company has a strong and rapidly growing manufacturing base operating in Richmond, British Columbia. We currently have an opportunity for an extrusion operator to join our dynamic operations team. This is a full-time, permanent position located in our manufacturing plant in Burnaby, B.C. The schedule involves shift work including 8 and 12 hour shifts including weekends,
The extrusion operator has the general responsibility of ensuring that manufactured products meet and exceed our customer’s expectation. The operator is designated to assist the Extrusion Lead and will have opportunities for skill enhancement and development through on-the-job-training.
General Responsibilities:
- Following the required company SOP’s, Procedures and Health & Safety Standards in order to maintain an efficient and safe working environment.
- General duties involving the physical handling and preparing of equipment for the extrusion machines including setup and maintaining the production cycle.
- Continuously monitor production process and quality level.
- Following a cleaning routine in order to ensure proper maintenance of the equipment and longevity of the equipment.
- Generating paperwork including: line sheets, production sheets, quality reports and checklists.
Skills and Qualifications: Experience in manufacturing, extruding, printing, warehouse, industrial or construction.
- High School diploma and good English skills required.
- Qualification in a technical, mathematical, engineering or manufacturing field considered an asset.
- First aid qualification, safety training, and forklift license are considered assets.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High degree of flexibility and good work ethics.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift 60lbs.
- Ability to work shift work, weekends and some overtime.
- Must currently be living in Vancouver/Lower Mainland area.
