Our client in the real estate space is seeking a Director, Human Resources who is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of all human resources functions across a multi-site organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership, operational teams, and finance to ensure HR programs support workforce effectiveness, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and overall business performance.
This role is 100% onsite based out of their office downtown Toronto.
- Develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.
- Partner with business leaders to identify workforce requirements, staffing needs, succession planning opportunities, and organizational capabilities.
- Design and execute recruitment and talent acquisition strategies to attract, develop, and retain high-performing employees in a competitive labour market.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to support successful employee integration and long-term engagement.
- Develop, maintain, and administer HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Design and implement performance management programs, including goal setting, performance evaluations, coaching initiatives, and employee development plans.
- Collaborate with leaders to address performance concerns and identify professional development opportunities.
- Lead succession planning and talent management initiatives for critical operational and leadership roles.
- Oversee compensation programs, salary administration, job evaluation frameworks, and incentive plans.
- Manage employee benefits programs and external vendor relationships to ensure competitive and cost-effective offerings.
- Develop and oversee employee wellness, disability management, accommodation, and return-to-work programs.
- Manage HR information systems (HRIS), employee data integrity, and HR reporting processes.
- Prepare workforce analytics, organizational reports, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Lead annual workforce planning and HR budget development processes.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and action plans informed by employee feedback and organizational priorities.
- Support organizational change initiatives, including growth strategies, restructuring activities, business integrations, and transformation projects.
- Provide leadership across all HR functions, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, talent management, HR systems, and departmental budgeting.
- Develop and promote health, wellness, and employee support programs.
- Provide guidance on labour relations, grievance management, and collective agreement administration where applicable.
- Oversee payroll administration processes and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and organizational standards.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional HR designation (e.g., CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent) considered an asset.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive human resources leadership experience.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with strong relationship-building, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Thorough knowledge of employment standards, labour legislation, human rights requirements, and workplace regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
