We are looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various systems within our warehouse. Your role will encompass tasks related to basic electricity, mechanical maintenance, HVAC systems, and more. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to safety. You will also be required to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Maintenance: Responsible for completing and calling vendors for quotes and repairs as needed to ensure the warehosue's smooth operation.
- Invoice Reconciliation: Maintain a Purchase Order (PO) Tracker for invoice reconciliation and tracking of expenses related to maintenance and repairs.
- Yard Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the warehouse's exterior areas clean and well-maintained.
- Cleaning: Assist in cleaning and organizing various areas of the warehouse as part of routine maintenance tasks.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing.
- Waste Management Collection: Ensure proper waste disposal and collection within the facility, following waste management guidelines.
- TDG Disposal: Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.
- MSDS Up-to-Date: Keep Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) up-to-date and readily accessible for all relevant materials and chemicals.
- Supply Orders: Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed to support maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or training in building maintenance, electrical, HVAC, or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Valid forklift and scissor lift certification or willingness to complete in-house training.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- No Criminal Record.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
- Able to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical fitness to perform the duties of the role safely.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
- Overtime
- Weekly Pay
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
