Your Water Company is looking for experienced drivers to fulfill temporary seasonal positions in our company. The scheduled contract will run until September 30th, 2026. An AZ or DZ license is required to apply. It is absolutely imperative to have extensive experience with manual transmission commercial trucks. We are unable to provide training on this, and we require you to be fully experienced and ready to operate manual transmission trucks. If you are accepted for an interview, we will send you a link to a pre-screening form to fill out. There MAY be a permanent position available after the season, if drivers are interested.
AZ POSITIONS: 1 position is available for our transport truck. Shifts will be available for residential and commercial deliveries around Niagara, delivering to pools, farms, construction sites, etc. You MUST be experienced with a 10 speed manual transmission. Required lifting up to 50lbs, you will setup hoses and pumps to complete the deliveries, then pack everything up for the next delivery.
DZ POSITIONS: 3 positions are open for residential and commercial water delivery in our straight trucks. Drivers MUST be experienced with a manual transmission on commercial trucks. We have both 9 and 10 speed trucks. Required lifting up to 50lbs, you will setup hoses and pumps to complete the deliveries, then pack everything up for the next delivery.
Dispatch is sent out the night before a shift, but the workload could change throughout the day. You will perform a circle check to begin your day, then proceed to the local water filling station to load the truck. You then head to the customer(s) on your list and unload into cisterns, pools, wells, containers, etc. This process may be performed between 4 and 14 times throughout the day. We have manual transmission trucks and extensive experience driving manual transmission trucks is a must. This is an outdoor job and you will be subjected to the elements while making deliveries. You will be in the heat of summer and the cold of winter, as well as the rain in between.
Experienced drivers are required to provide an insurance LOE showing at least 3 of the last 5 years coverage under heavy commercial truck insurance, or fill out the required TRUCKMAN forms provided after the interview process.
NOTE ON LOEs: They can be obtained through previous employer's insurers and they need to state experience with HEAVY COMMERCIAL VEHICLES. The letters must be from the insurance company and NOT the employer's letterhead (unless they self-insure). These are required to get on our fleet insurance without a truckman form. There are no exceptions.
Requirements:
- Truckman form OR LOEs from previous insurers showing 3 of the last 5 years of heavy commercial vehicle coverage.
- Flexibility. Hours vary based on weather. Some days could run 12-14 hours.
- Reliability. There is no "end time" (ex. done by 5pm everyday). This job is largely dependent on rain and weather.
- Some Saturdays required if you are needed.
- Ability to work independently in an environment that, at times, can be fast-paced.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather - this includes rain or snow, heat, and cold.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to competently use technology - send/receive emails & texts, operate digital database in an app on a smartphone (proficiency using a phone is a must)
- Commercial truck license with air brake endorsement required.
- Extensive manual transmission experience required
- Ability to perform circle check, report any required truck concerns to the maintenance supervisor.
- Ability to move large hoses or pumps, and lift approx. 50lbs.
- Ability to maintain attention while loading and unloading the water from the truck.
- Ability to collect payment, fill out necessary receipts and driver paperwork.
- Ability to communicate effectively with dispatch.
- Have good customer services skills, be friendly and courteous when in contact with customers.
