How You’ll Support the Team
In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for the overall management and direction of the Business & Enterprise Applications section and key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and manage enterprise applications for the Corporation, which includes enterprise resource planning, asset and work management, property, permitting and licensing applications and the Corporate website and Intranet.

Review, recommend and implement enterprise application modifications or new functionality and features based on business process re-engineering and system integrations resulting in improved efficiency and resource utilization.

Implement software upgrades, corrections or enhancements to Enterprise Applications; assist in the development of suitable enterprise application training.

Liaise with Corporate clients and Digital Strategy Coordinating Committees to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, advancement and success of departmental business applications, and review, recommend and implement Departmental business application modifications or new functionality and features.

Implement software upgrades, correction or enhancements for Corporate and Departmental business applications. Collaborate with clients and determine the most cost effective and efficient solutions with respect to the purchase and/or internal development of software solutions; manage the internal development or contracted development of custom desktop and mobile applications.

Assist in establishing Corporate direction; define scope of services and prioritization planning related to Information Technology and Enterprise software applications and platforms.

Participate as a member of the Corporate Information Technology Management Team in the development of strategic initiatives for the Division consistent with the overall City Strategic Plan, the Corporate Digital Strategy, Corporate Services strategic initiatives, projects and priorities.

Identify new, emerging opportunities for client service enhancements and/or operational efficiency improvements.

Liaise with Corporate Communications to ensure timely development of the Corporate website and make recommendations for web site and content management system enhancements.

Collaborate with the Corporate Information Technology management team to develop, implement, and maintain a technology recovery plan based on corporate requirements and within approved budgetary guidelines.

Collaborate as a member of the IT Architecture Team to define and develop standards, lifecycles and roadmaps for sustainability of the City’s IT environment and ensure various industry standards and privacy legislation are met.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
Here’s what will help you succeed as a Manager, Business & Enterprise Applications:

Degree in computer science or a degree in business administration majoring in information systems, together with three to five years’ experience in defining, building, implementing and managing complex corporate-wide enterprise applications and departmental business solutions; or
-
Diploma relating to computer programming, together with four to six years’ experience in defining, building, implementing and managing complex corporate-wide enterprise applications and departmental business solutions;

Three to five years’ supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
