Site Overview: Albright Manor Long-Term Care Home, established in 1966, is a 231 bed, charitable, non-profit organization, located in Beamsville, Ontario. Albright Centre is providing services and/or care for approximately 270 seniors on site. Albright Centre employs over 300 staff and receives support from over 200 volunteers.
Position: Temporary Full Time Security Guard
Schedule:
Continental Nights (2000-0800hrs) or,
Continental Days (0800-2000)
Payrate: $20.50/hr
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is AA after 88 hours

Essential Job Functions:

Assist patients, visitors, and staff while promoting a safe and welcoming environment throughout the facility.

Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and follow staff direction to support patient care and operational requirements.

Respond proactively to calls for service and provide immediate support in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Monitor and maintain the safety of assigned patients through patient watch assignments and continuous observation.

Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols during assigned 12-hour shifts.

Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and coded emergency situations.

Investigate routine incidents and prepare detailed, accurate reports and documentation.

Utilize verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques to manage disruptive or high-risk situations.

Deliver exceptional customer service to individuals experiencing stress, medical emergencies, or emotional distress.

Maintain a visible security presence and ensure compliance with facility policies and procedures.

Assist in developing and implementing security plans for high-risk patients and sensitive situations.

Work closely with vulnerable populations while demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and respect.

Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies, emergency medical services, and other first responders when required.

Remain physically capable of standing, walking, and performing security duties for extended periods.
Requirements:

Valid Ontario Security License & First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider

Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, Covid Vaccine two doses, and two step TB skin test
-
Must own a reliable vehicle

Fluent in English (oral and written)

Legally authorized to work in Canada

Education in Police Foundations, Criminology, PSI, or Border Services is considered an asset

Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test

Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)

Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
