Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Convenience Store Clerk to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions, and maintaining the store’s appearance. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be organized, and possess a positive attitude. Bilingual abilities and experience with retail sales or POS systems are a plus. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling and transactions
- Manage cashiering duties including processing payments, giving change, and issuing receipts
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
- Conduct product demos when applicable to inform customers about new or featured items
- Maintain merchandising standards by restocking shelves and organizing displays
- Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Manage phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via other communication channels
- Handle basic math calculations efficiently for daily operations
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Basic math skills for transactions and inventory management
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques, including upselling and product demos
