The continued growth of Nicola Real Estate has created an opportunity for an Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic and growing team.
We are recruiting for an Accounting Clerk to join our growing Real Estate team. You will play a key role in the day to day operations of the team by performing transactional processing and bookkeeping for various Real Estate funds and related entities. This provides an excellent opportunity to use your creativity and ingenuity to improve systems and provide professional and insightful support to the team. You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Real Estate Finance. This is an in-office 5-days per week role, located in our Vancouver Real Estate office.
- Processing payables and receivables, preparing journal entries, and preparing invoices
- Handling banking duties including electronic and cheque payments, and foreign exchange transactions
- Referencing invoices to contracts to ensure accuracy, when applicable
- Ensuring timely payments to vendors
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements for various Real Estate corporate entities
- Preparing monthly and quarterly tax reporting, including GST filings
- Managing correspondence received from external parties
- Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with the Finance team, the broader Real Estate team, and external stakeholders
- Additional accounting support as needed
- Other relevant and related responsibilities, as assigned and as the needs of the organization change.
- A Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Certificate or diploma in Accounting. Equivalent experience will be considered
- Familiarity with Yardi software is preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task and manage competing deadlines
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer
This position comes with a base salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
