Position Description
IEC Hamilton is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated Digital Marketing Coordinator to support the implementation of our Strategic Plan's Continuous Skills Intelligence and Pathway Visibility initiatives through the development of engaging digital communications and visual resources.
Working closely with members of the IEC Hamilton team, you will transform workforce research, employer feedback, and labour market information into clear, accessible, and visually engaging content. Your work will help employers, educators, community partners, and other stakeholders better understand emerging workforce trends while supporting employer engagement, knowledge mobilization, and career pathway awareness.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys graphic design, digital communications, storytelling, and translating complex information into engaging visual content. While the position is primarily remote, occasional in-person meetings, events, photography, and collaborative planning sessions may be required.
Employment Type
- Type: Temporary Full-Time (Summer Position to August 29, 2026)
- Hours: 35 hours per week
- Duration: Approximately 8 weeks (subject to Canada Summer Jobs funding)
- Payroll: Hours worked are paid monthly, on or around the 28
- Work Model: Primarily Remote with occasional in-person meetings and events throughout Hamilton.
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.

Job Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Develop graphics, infographics, presentations, and visual resources that support IEC Hamilton's Strategic Plan, including its Continuous Skills Intelligence and Pathway Visibility initiatives.
- Design promotional materials for employer engagement activities, surveys, interviews, focus groups, consultations, programs, and events.
- Create engaging digital content that highlights workforce trends, emerging occupations, career pathways, skills demand, labour market insights, and IEC Hamilton programs.
- Collaborate with IEC Hamilton team members to develop communications, outreach materials, and marketing resources that support organizational priorities.
- Work with staff to translate research findings, employer feedback, program outcomes, and workforce intelligence into clear, accessible, and visually engaging communications.
- Design reports, presentations, templates, stakeholder resources, and community engagement materials.
- Assist with website updates, content management, and the organization of digital resources.
- Capture, organize, and maintain photographs, graphics, videos, and other multimedia assets.
- Ensure all communications align with IEC Hamilton's branding, accessibility, and quality standards.
- Support social media, digital marketing, and communications initiatives that increase awareness of IEC Hamilton programs, partnerships, events, and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain organized digital files, templates, brand assets, and communications resources.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas that strengthen organizational communications, marketing, and community engagement.
- Complete additional communications, marketing, and digital media projects as assigned.
Qualifications to Succeed
We welcome applicants from post-secondary programs in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Public Relations, Business, or related fields, as well as individuals who have developed equivalent skills through self-directed learning, online training, community-based projects, volunteer work, freelance experience, or a demonstrated portfolio of digital communications work.
- Experience creating digital communications, social media content, graphic design, or marketing materials through employment, volunteer experience, academic projects, or independent work.
- Strong working knowledge of Canva.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
- Experience designing presentations, promotional materials, reports, or other visual communications.
- Familiarity with website content management systems and social media platforms is considered an asset.
- Experience with photography, video editing, multimedia production, or basic animation is considered an asset.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Working Conditions
- Primarily remote work with occasional in-person meetings, photography opportunities, employer visits, schools, and community events throughout Hamilton.
- Reliable internet connection and an appropriate remote workspace are required.
- Occasional travel within Hamilton may be required.
- Flexible schedule during regular business hours, with occasional evening or event-based work.
- Access to a personal vehicle is considered an asset but is not required.

- A collection of branded communications resources that advance IEC Hamilton's Strategic Plan and strengthen awareness of its programs, partnerships, and community impact.
Compensation
Compensation will be provided in accordance with the Canada Summer Jobs program and IEC Hamilton's established wage rate of $18.60/hour for this position.
