Recreation Theatre Instructor – Performing Arts
Part Time: 2-4 hours a week | Rate: Starting at $25.00/hr. Negotiable depending on experience.
Rise Arts Company is looking for a Theatre Instructor to lead recreational theatre programs across the Vancouver area. Applicants must be comfortable with planning and leading drama/theatre programs for ages 3-12.
Qualifications:
- Have a background in drama and/or theatre
- Have a joy and passion working with children ages 3-12 years old
- Must have experience lesson planning and leading a range of activities to children and/or youth
- Must be comfortable leading programs to groups of 25+ participants. Assistant instructors are provided for larger classes
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with managers, co-workers, site staff, parents & children
- Must be highly reliable, punctual and responsible
- Have the ability to create a safe and welcoming space for children and youth to explore their love for creativity
Program and class details:
Downtown Vancouver
Wednesdays from September 2026 - December 2026
· 3:30pm-4:15pm: Mini Theatre (Ages 4–6)
· 4:30pm-5:30pm: Beginner Theatre & Script Writing (Ages 6–12)
Certifications/Licenses:
- Current first-aid certificate.
- Must complete and pass a Police Information Check specific to working with the vulnerable sector
