Presses resident’s personal clothing, table cloths and skirts, microfiber clothes and mops, and napkins.
Washes, dries, and irons clothes ; Ensures equipment is clean and safe.
Operates washers and dryers adhering to established formulas and manufacturer’s instructions.
Assists, as necessary, in other laundry duties such as folding, untangling, pressing, packages, and the distribution of clean linen/laundry.
Cleans and maintains washing and drying equipment for use in linen/laundry including the linen and laundry rooms.
Performs other duties as required.
Follows safe work practice for chemical use including proper labeling, storage and use.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Previous experience working in a Long Term care or Acute Care environment considered an asset.
Previous laundry experience considered an asset
Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and follow through on specific instructions.
Must be able to maintain a high level of sanitation, both personal and in the entire work area
Must be responsible, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to lift, pull, push and move carts, equipment and heavy materials on a regular basis.
WHMIS training an asset.
Must be of able to lift up to 50 lbs at a time, in good general health and able to endure the day-to-day pressures of the position
Must be able to maintain regular and consistent attendance in accordance with the Northwood corporate standard.
