Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Flatbed Driver / Warehouse Associate to join our team. This dual-role position combines professional driving responsibilities with warehouse operations to ensure the efficient movement, handling, and storage of products. The successful candidate will transport and deliver goods using a company flatbed truck while also supporting warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material handling.
Essential Functions (Internal)
- Prepare receiving docks, receive, inspect, and verify incoming products against purchase orders, expiration dates, quality standards, and shipment documentation.
- Prepare, schedule, track, and coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate loading, unloading, documentation, and complete item lists.
- Safely operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, and store products.
- Perform quality audits on incoming and outgoing shipments, report discrepancies, and resolve issues related to missing documents, shipments, or deliveries.
- Process shipping and receiving paperwork, maintain accurate records, and track shipments and receipts for reporting purposes.
- Manage inventory of products, shipping materials, and warehouse supplies.
- Assist with freight scheduling and maintain positive working relationships with carriers and vendors.
- Lift, move, and stock merchandise in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant warehouse environment while following company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Provide backup support to other warehouse team members and perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Functions: (External)
- Prepare equipment, secure loads, and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, Acts, and transportation requirements.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
- Comply with legislation related to vehicle operation, carriage of goods, hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weight/dimension regulations.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, and damage to the Manager.
- Verify that all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain required records and documentation, including driver logbooks and bills of lading, manually or electronically.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers, both verbally and in writing.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and ensure any resulting debris is cleaned up.
- Perform periodic inspections to confirm loads remain properly secured during transport.
- Deliver products and required documentation to customers courteously and on time.
- Provide feedback to the Manager regarding customer, delivery, or mechanical issues.
Education Requirement
- High school diploma or GED.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Forklift certification preferred.
- G-Class driver's license is a must have.
- Experience in the food industry preferred.
- Working experience in Shipping and Receiving role preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments.
- Ability to weigh and measure items.
- Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Working Conditions
- Climate controlled warehouse environment.
- Walking, standing, lifting, bending.
- Deliveries are usually done by hand requiring repetitive lifting of 25kg bags in all weather conditions
Job Type
Ability to Commute/Relocate
- Reliable transportation to commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Schedule
- 8-hour shift
- 40 hours per week
- Occasional overtime and weekend work when business need requires.

- One location – Cambridge, Ontario
