We are looking for a highly organised and detailed- oriented individual with a strong electrical background in project management. You will be required to prepare/ coordinate project schedules, manage and update employee job allocations. Preview project sites and attend construction meetings. The skills to negotiate with suppliers / sub-contractors and procure material for jobs as required. Strong computer skills and excellent communication abilities is key for this role.
- Coordinate project activities and ensure all project phases are completed on time
- Assist in preparing project proposals, timeframes, schedules, and budgets
- Collaborate with Project foremen and material handler
- Maintain project documentation and reports for accurate tracking of project status
- Review and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints
- Schedule work crews and assist with site inspections and locates
- Manage inventory, procure specialty materials/tools, and maintain small tool certifications
- Organise yard materials/equipment and process incoming shipments
- Provide customer service support by addressing inquiries via phone or email and assisting with client needs.
- As required, ordering tools, equipment/vehicle rentals and material shortage for projects.
- Provide project support and coordination for the engineering team to help ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
- Project coordination and tracking using Microsoft Excel and project management tools.
- Verify receipt of services procured to support payment of supplier invoices.
- Request cost quotations from internal design, material, and construction resources.
- Maintain and improve contract reporting tools and templates.
- Handle packing slips, supplier invoices with respect to distribution to appropriate departments for approval
- Prepare and organize job packages and job binders
- Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines efficiently
- Ability to read and interpret Electrical construction blueprints accurately
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- University or College Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Business Administration would be an asset.
- Experience in preparing and managing Change Orders is required.
- Experience with project management tools is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
- Experience and ability to use AutoCad would be an asset but not essential
