Forte Fixtures is currently seeking a team orientated CNC Programmer / Material Optimization Specialist to join our team.
CNC Programming
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs.
- Interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, specifications, and work orders.
- Generate tool paths using CAD/CAM software.
- Perform program testing, verification, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain CNC program libraries and revision controls.
- Support machine operators with program-related issues.
Material Optimization
- Create optimized nesting layouts to maximize material yield.
- Analyze material consumption and identify opportunities to reduce waste.
- Develop cutting strategies that improve productivity and reduce scrap.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material utilization.
- Collaborate with purchasing and production teams to improve inventory efficiency.
- Recommend process improvements to increase material recovery and reduce costs.
Education
- Diploma or Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, CNC Programming, or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 3–5 years of CNC programming experience in a wood working manufacturing environment.
- Experience with material nesting and optimization software.
- Experience reading technical drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as:
- AutoCAD
- Inventor
- B Solid
- Biesse Works
- Understanding of CNC machine setup and operation.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
