- Perform and support in-process and final inspections using appropriate measuring tools such as calipers, pin gauges, height gauges, and inspection checklists.
- Maintain QC records including inspection reports, NCRs, corrective actions, customer returns, internal returns, PPAP / FAIR / DIR documentation, and related evidence.
- Communicate directly with customers on quality concerns, rejected parts, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements.
- Quarantine, label, and control nonconforming parts to prevent accidental use or shipment.
- Create and manage NCR documentation, including root cause, immediate corrective action, preventive action, and closure verification.
- Work with production, programming, purchasing, shipping, and management to make sure quality requirements are understood and followed.
- Enforce QC procedures, stop work when requirements are unclear, and escalate drawing, material, revision, or process conflicts.
- Help maintain controlled documents, SOPs, training records, inspection checklists, and quality system records.
- Support management review, internal audits, KPI tracking, customer audits, supplier/customer qualification requests, and Sable’s movement toward ISO 9001 readiness.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, sheet metal, fabrication, machining, or a related environment.
- Able to read drawings, revisions, tolerances, material callouts, and customer notes.
- Comfortable speaking with customers professionally and clearly.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to enforce process even when production is busy.
- Familiar with NCRs, root cause analysis, corrective action, first-off inspection, PPAP/FAIR/DIR, or ISO 9001 concepts.
- Able to work with office systems, folders, emails, job records, and production documentation.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to stop, question, or escalate work when quality cannot be verified.
Preferred
- ISO 9001 experience or interest in helping build an ISO-ready quality system.
- Experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint, or similar manufacturing systems.
- Background in customer returns, supplier quality, inspection reporting, or manufacturing documentation.
