Job Purpose:
As a part of the Events Team, the Porter Team is responsible for timely teardown and set up of the event spaces. Requirements of this role could range from setting up event furniture and décor, setting up and troubleshooting AV equipment, transportation of equipment from one room to another, and other similar tasks. Porters are an integral part of the team involved in making event hosts’ visions come to life and set up beautiful event spaces for guests to enjoy.
**This role will be required to work late nights. The Porter Team will come in as events begin to wind down (approx midnight) and will flip rooms to prepare for the following day. The shifts will be 2 - 4 hours in length.
Key Accountabilities:
- Confirm tasks with Event Manager and assist with event tear down and reset according to the Banquet Event Order.
- Assist in preparing event space for an event by performing such tasks as: placing tables and chairs, transporting necessary equipment from storage to the event space, ensure items necessary for the following day’s set up details are available and present.
- Help setting up and stocking bars, food stations and beverage stations as required.
- Accept and perform additional tasks as required for optimal performance of the restaurant.
- Actively represent and promote Pearle Hospitality’s core values within the workplace.
- Follow company policies and procedures as defined and outlined by Pearle Hospitality.
- Follow all Health and Safety standards to ensure a safe work environment for all guests and team members.
- Adhere to all cleanliness and sanitization practices.
- Maintain professional appearance and act with integrity and honesty.
What we would like you to bring to the position:
- Must be able to lift upwards of 40 lbs.
- Attention to Detail: Take note of specific instructions given in event orders, making sure the event space is set up accordingly to meet and exceed host/guest expectations.
- Teamwork: Work with a team of event staff – Event Managers and Set Up team to allow ease of event space teardown and setup.
