Who We Are
Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.
Student Engagement and Retention (SER) provides and facilitates transformative, engaging opportunities that foster students' holistic development, sense of belonging, and academic success. This includes designing and delivering new student transition programs that welcome, inform, and connect incoming students to the SFU community. We support the university's academic mission by helping students successfully navigate their transition to university and by administering institution-wide student success and retention initiatives, including the Back on Track program.
