Superior Turf & Snow Ltd. is looking to expand our team for the Fall and Winter season in preparation for a busy spring and summer. This position may transition into full time summer and fall work.
Job Responsibilities:
Field Operations Supervisor;
This worker will not be able to supervise the other landscape, cutting crew(s), and overall snow plowing/shoveling operations. The intent is so the other Crew Leads will need to be responsible for their own quality. This individual will also serve as the “Crew Lead” for their own crew.
Winter:
- manages crews and operations during winter storms
- focusing on efficiently clearing snow and ice (when reaching designated trigger points) by delegating tasks like plowing, shoveling, and salting, ensuring safety protocols are followed (eg JSA/appropriate clothing and safety gear)
- monitoring weather and site conditions (based on the above trigger points), maintaining equipment (fueling, greasing, oiling, cleaning, general service points such as oil changes and tire rotations)
- communicating with management and clients. To train staff, handle scheduling(pre-storm), document reports, and inspect work(including all paperwork and documentation) to meet quality standards.
Summer:
- responsible for cut schedule management and execution (Of all Crews)
- responsible for PLANNING cutting equipment care and maintenance (Of all Crews)
- plan regular maintenance
- oil checks (Daily)
- cleaning of equipment
- weekly washing of machinery
- vehicle & trailer cleaning (In and out - bi-Weekly)
- review damaged daily (All Crews)
- discuss workforce scheduling with project manager and operations manager
- coach other Crew Leads
Job Requirements:
- Ability to exert moderately heavy (up to 50 pounds) physical effort in moderate to heavy work, typically involving some combination of kneeling, crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to operate communication devices including telephone and two-way radios
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisor as well as the general public.
- Previous experience is an asset.
- G Class License is an asset.
