Babble & Bloom is a pediatric speech, language, and behavior support practice based in Edmonton, providing in-home services for children and families across the city and surrounding areas.
We believe communication is built through connection—within families, in everyday routines, and in environments where children feel safe to be themselves. Our work is rooted in play-based, neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based care, and we’re looking for an SLP who shares those values.
This role is primarily in-home, giving you the opportunity to support children and families where real life happens. We focus not just on the child, but on the whole family, which includes helping coach caregivers to feel confident, supported, and equipped to nurture their child's communication.
What You’ll Do
- Provide in-home, strengths-based assessments and therapy for children with a range of communication needs (e.g., late talkers, language difficulties/disorders, speech sound difficulties/disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, social communication differences, autistic children, and children who use AAC or other communication supports).
- Build genuine, trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Create individualized treatment goals that reflect each child’s strengths, needs, and family priorities.
- Deliver play-based, flexible sessions embedded in daily routines and real-life contexts.
- Support and coach parents and caregivers in a way that feels collaborative, respectful, and practical.
- Focus on building family capacity, so strategies carry over beyond your sessions.
- Maintain clear, thoughtful documentation.
- Continue learning and growing in neurodiversity-affirming and family-centered practices.
What You Bring
- Registration with ACSLPA.
- Reliable transportation (mileage is compensated).
- A strong commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-based care.
- Comfort working in home environments and adapting to different family dynamics.
- A passion for parent coaching and supporting the whole family system.
- Warm, clear, and respectful communication skills.
- Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to meet families where they’re at.
- Strong organization skills and a balanced approach to documentation.
- Pediatric experience is an asset, but we value mindset, openness, and alignment just as much.
What We Offer:
- Flexible, contractor-based schedule, you set the hours that work for you.
- Mileage compensation for travel between client homes.
- A supportive, close-knit team that genuinely cares about the work we do.
- The chance to be part of a growing practice built on play, connection, and respect for all forms of communication.
