About the Role
CBS is currently seeking reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Commercial Cleaners at a CN Rail facility in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia.
We are hiring for four (4) positions. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work and are committed to maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and presentable building environment.
Please note: a personal vehicle is required to access the worksite.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop all floors throughout the facility.
- Dust, clean, and disinfect furniture, desks, windowsills, and other surfaces.
- Empty garbage bins and replace liners.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, including toilets and urinals, sinks and countertops, mirrors, and floors.
- Refill soap, toilet paper, and paper towel dispensers.
- Wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including door handles and light switches.
- Clean and sanitize the employee locker room and lunchroom, including countertops, sinks, tables, chairs, and microwave.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety throughout the facility.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial services, or a related field is considered an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle is required to travel to the worksite.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, reaching, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Must consent to a criminal background check.
- Language(s): English (and/or French)
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Understanding of sanitation procedures and workplace safety standards.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Position & Schedule
We are hiring for the following schedules:
Full-Time: Monday to Friday
- 2 positions available
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- 40 hours per week
Part-Time: Saturday & Sunday
- 2 positions available
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- 16 hours per week
Additional Information
- Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided.
- Onsite and online training modules are provided.
