Press Assistant – Manufacturing
Location: Scarborough, ON
Pay Rate: $17.60/hour (Morning Shift) | $19.00/hour (Night Shift)
We are currently hiring a Press Assistant to join the manufacturing team in Scarborough. The ideal candidate will support press operators with machine setup, material handling, quality checks, and general production activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist press operators with machine setup, adjustments, and production preparation.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products safely.
- Support daily press operations, including changing materials, plates, dies, and machine components.
- Perform quality checks during production runs to ensure products meet specifications.
- Inspect finished parts/products for accuracy, defects, and overall quality.
- Handle ink, solvents, and production materials as required.
- Clean and maintain press equipment, including lubricating components and keeping work areas organized.
- Assist with changing blades, cleaning tooling, and maintaining production equipment.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and report any equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment.
Requirements:
- Previous manufacturing, production, or machine operation experience is an asset.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions.
- Basic mechanical understanding and willingness to learn machine operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Morning Shift: $17.60/hour
- Night Shift: $19.00/hour
Pay: $17.60-$19.00 per hour
