Job Summary:
Armada Toolworks Ltd is a full-service supplier to the automotive industry, specializing in the manufacturing of plastic injection molded components and assemblies. We are an IATF 16949 certified, Tier 1 and 2 supplier to the automotive OEM marketplace. Our products are used in various vehicle systems including window and door systems, interior trim and functional components. We have full product design capability as well as in-house tooling and production equipment manufacturing capability.
Our Process Engineering Department is currently looking for an energetic, hands-on Process Engineer or Technologist. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of tooling and equipment required to support new and existing manufacturing processes as well as supporting technical troubleshooting activities
Armada Toolworks Ltd is located in Lindsay Ontario near the junction of Hwy’s 7 & 35.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the design and build of tooling and special machinery to support new and existing manufacturing processes
- New automation builds including programing of new and existing robotic applications
- Carries out and leads continuous improvement activities of existing manufacturing processes
- Process troubleshoots and provides support for Production, Quality and Maintenance departments
- Oversees project management from concept to production of manufacturing tooling and equipment
- Manage project timelines and capital budgets for new equipment
- Follows APQP process to ensure all required manufacturing systems are documented and appropriate personnel are trained (PFLOW, PFMEA, Validation , etc)
- Direct and prioritize the activities of Technicians/external contractors to implement new projects and CI activities
Education and Experience:
- Engineering degree or Technologist diploma
- Minimum five years working in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive or plastics industry.
- Good understanding of machine control logic, PLC programming, Robotic programming
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Exposure to plastic injection molding and zinc die casting
- Knowledge of automotive APQP process and IATF 16949 procedures
- Excellent organization skills
- Can Do attitude and very hands on
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required for daily interaction with internal and external personnel
