We are seeking experienced Sandblasters / Painters / Labourers to join our industrial coatings team. This role supports critical infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, tanks, clarifiers, and other high-spec industrial assets. The successful candidate will perform abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and application of high-performance protective coatings in accordance with strict quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform abrasive blasting (sandblasting) to specified surface preparation standards (SSPC/NACE) on steel, concrete, and other substrates.
- Apply industrial protective coatings, including plural-component systems, tank linings, and immersion-grade products.
- Conduct surface preparation, masking, and cleanup to ensure quality and compliance.
- Assist with holiday testing, DFT measurements, and quality control as directed.
- Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and in industrial environments while following all site-specific and company safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain blasting equipment, spray equipment, compressors, and related tools.
- Perform general labour duties including site setup, material handling, containment, and housekeeping.
- Follow all applicable OHS, environmental, and quality procedures; participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Collaborate with supervisors, inspectors, and other trades to meet project schedules and specifications.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in industrial sandblasting and protective coating application (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
- Familiarity with critical infrastructure or industrial environments (e.g., water/wastewater treatment plants, tanks, pipelines, or similar).
- Working knowledge of surface preparation standards (SSPC-SP, NACE) and coating application best practices.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding manual labour (lifting, climbing, prolonged standing, etc.).
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to follow strict site and company procedures.
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
