Position Summary
Saba Foods is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Server to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of restaurant serving experience and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality. The Server is responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, upselling menu items, and ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant
- Strong English communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic cash handling and POS system experience.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Key Responsibilities Guest Service
- Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus and explain dishes, ingredients, and daily specials.
- Answer questions regarding allergens and dietary restrictions.
- Recommend and upsell appetizers, desserts, and beverages.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and professionally.
- Check on guests to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently.
Dining Room Operations
- Set up and clear tables.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining room and service stations.
- Refill condiments, napkins, and supplies.
- Assist with takeout and delivery orders.
- Perform opening and closing duties.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Support coworkers during busy periods.
- Follow company policies, health regulations, and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Toast POS or similar systems.
- Multilingual abilities are an asset.
